Windows, macOS, and Linux all work identically, since the only requirement on either end is a modern browser. Open filetransferx.com on the computer with the file and choose Send Files; open it on the other computer and choose Receive Files. Typing in the short transfer code pairs the two — no scanning required, since two computers rarely have a convenient way to scan each other's screens.
Best for
Handing off a project file to a coworker's laptop, moving files onto a freshly set up computer before you've configured cloud sync, or transferring between a personal and a work machine that shouldn't share the same account. Because nothing is stored afterward, this also works well for anything you'd rather not leave sitting on a cloud drive.
